General information regarding KlokWurX Service Standards.
Watch Repair Services:-All our watch repair technicians are professionally trained and accredited. All watch full-services include new gaskets fitted throughout. All Watch full-services (where required) are pressure tested to 3 Atmospheres. New glasses are always recommended to be fitted to all watches with standard plastic crystals, and sapphire ones are recommended to be replaced when needed. Watch case restorationDuring the standard service steel cases and bracelets are ultrasonically cleaned, gold cases and bracelets are cleaned and polished.Restoration of steel cases to remove deep scratches, polishing and graining can be carried out upon request as an additional service. Restoration of gold cases can include, repair or re-manufacture of bezels, case backs, lugs, hinges, and the repair of holes. This is also an additional service if required. Complete wristwatch restorationRestoration of vintage wristwatches is, wherever possible, always undertaken to 'original/as new' condition. This includes dial restoration, locating and fitting of obsolete parts, manufacturing balance staff and stems, fitting shaped glasses and if necessary the manufacture and supply of leather and gold straps and bracelets. GuaranteeOur Workmanship is unconditionally guaranteed.Usage, Wear and Tear, and the servicability of components however limit the effective Guarantee to specific time periods. Generally, ALL repairs, and refurbishments are Guaranteed for 12 months from our date of completion. However, where pre-used or refurbished components are used in effecting repairs (such as when parts are no longer available and we utilise items from our stocks of pre-used movements, etc;) the effective Guarantee period is reduced as follows:- Watches (and/or clocks) with obsolete movements which receive second-quality parts are guaranteed for 6 months only. This reduction in Guarantee period is due to our often having to use parts from movements we have bought in, and which may themselves be of some age. We always verify the serviceability of parts prior to fitting, but the degree of pre-use is always an unknown element and cannot therefore be guaranteed. This restriction should not be regarded as an issue. The same high standards of workmanship still apply, and we will always look at cases of stoppages outwith our Guarantee periods on their individual merits. Therefore, our Guarantee periods should be regarded as the Minimum applicable. Note: For additonal fees we can manufacture any item required to replace with 'new' rather than 'second-quality' components but the costs often make this impractical. It remains the Clients choice as to which to procure. However, our Standard Process is not to re-manufacture as a first resort. All Jewellery repairs are guaranteed for 12 months. All watches are tested for at least 72 hours prior to shipment. All clocks are tested for 5 days prior to shipment Most repairs are completed within our target turnaround time of 21 days from arrival at our facilities. Occasionally however (e.g. where obsolete parts are to be sourced or re-manufactured) the work can extend beyond this time. In cases of extended delay the customer is ALWAYS informed by email, fax, or by telephone message, with an estimated completion date. All watches are shipped with a comprehensive Service Report. This includes (for mechanical watches) print-outs from electronic test equipment showing the efficiency of the movement. Shipping and Postage...for general shipping information click here...WATCHESAll watches are shipped via insured Royal Mail Special Delivery. All shipping costs are payable by the client. To proceed with your repair or service we will require our Service Request Form to be completed. This must be printed and included in your parcel when you send your watch. JEWELLERYMost of our jewellery repairers are also 'UK Assay Office Sponsors' in their own right. As in the case of watches, jewellery repairs may be shipped directly to us, ...however, we would strongly recommend that you submit your jewellery via our local Trade Partner if at all possible. This ensures that you can be advised in person on the likely cost and repairs required prior to shipment. This suggestion though is not an imperative, and if you prefer (or if not feasible in the event of their not being a Partner in your local area) you can forward to us directly, using the same Service Request Form as for a watch or clock. CLOCKSWe manufacture reproduction and replica clocks to order and for speculative sale. All our clock repairs are fully guaranteed, and are supplemented by our 'No-Nonsense' Support service. This service gives all customers access to our technical support facility via either the telephone or email. We restore, service and repair with full 12 months Guarantee all forms of 'Torsion', 'Anniversary', or '400-day' clocks. All clocks are shipped via insured Royal Mail, or Carrier Services (dependant upon weight of parcel). We design and manufacture Architectural and Public clocks for Local Authorities, Theme Parks, and Property Developers. We repair Turret Clocks either in-situ or in our workshops. We also have a mobile workshop available which can be brought to your location for any special commisions. Our Mobile workshop is also available for hire by the day or week for events and on-site training. INSURANCE & LIABILITIESPlease note that you must arrange insurance of your Items and Articles prior to shipment to us.Whilst we take all reasonable steps to protect your items whilst in our possession; and return them to you using insured Postal Services, we cannot insure individual items whilst under repair. Please see our Terms, Conditions, and Limits of Liability Statement. If you wish to insure your item for more than it's 'broken' or 'before-repair' value, you must arrange for such yourself and at your own expense. Our limits of liability as detailed in our Terms, Conditions, and Limits of Liability Statement therefore refer to the 'before repair scrap value only', and DO NOT include for any incidental loss. If you have a particularly valuable 'item' you wish us to work upon and wish us to accept additional responsibilities for it whilst in our custody this can be discussed and possibly arranged. You should contact us prior to shipping with the full details of the item, plus your requested level of Risk Transfer that you wish us to undertake. We cannot guarantee that we will accept such, our decision in such cases is final, and any additional insurance costs we incur will be chargeable to you, plus an administration fee of 12% of the charges levied by the insurers. If this is of interest to you please contact us initially by email by clicking here. NOTE: We are not responsible for the conduct of any 3rd-party in this transaction, unless they are directly employed by us. This means that our 'Trading Partners' (who are NOT in any way our Legal Partners) are individuals and business-people in their own Rights. They operate their business independently of ours. Any loss suffered as a result of the actions of any employee of any 'Trading Partner' organisation is a matter outwith our control. We will however always assist customers to seek resolution of any issue with our Trading Partners, but our Liability is strictly limited as above.
